PPMX - FAQ's

The PPMX Basics

PPMX is an enterprise work management SaaS solution that transforms how you work with teams, divisions, groups, contractors, vendors and clients. PPMX’s easy to use technology suite enables successful management of people while providing complete visibility across projects and activities to positively impact your bottom line.
Yes, PPMX uses both of these Microsoft technologies; the collaboration and scheduling engines were designed and built by Microsoft. What makes PPMX unique is its intuitive easy to use web-based interface, its mobile application, its collection of built-in reports and dashboards, and its unique implementation and support model.
PPMX incorporates our decades of Project and Portfolio Management field experience and was designed to be deployed quickly and inexpensively, rather than following the traditional long, elaborate, confusing, and expensive implementation process. PPMX can be fully deployed weeks and clients can realize an ROI in months. Furthermore, the user adoption rate due to the simplified user experience is considerably higher.
Unlike Project Online which is a multi-tenant platform limiting you from being able to access the back end or even the databases themselves, PPMX is hosted only in private clouds created exclusively for each of our clients. Our PPMX Private Clouds comprise a complete SaaS PPM solution that includes a quick deployment model, several built-in reports and dashboards, a mobile interface, an intuitive web-based interface, and access to the database for custom reporting and Line of Business integration. A proper deployment of Project Online involves the same long, elaborate, confusing, and expensive implementation process as Microsoft PPM / Project Server, and it does not include any built-in reports or dashboards, a mobile interface, or access to the database for custom reporting or Line of Business integration.

Yes, if your organization already has Microsoft PPM / Project Server in place, then you can easily migrate to PPMX to implement its industry-leading practices, built-in reports and dashboards, and mobile interface quickly and inexpensively... and to lift the burden of system administration and infrastructure costs. However, your system may require additional services to review your existing system and develop a plan to migrate to PPMX.
Microsoft Project Professional is not required to use PPMX. It can be used in web-only mode for project, resource, and portfolio management, although some scheduling features will be limited. We do recommend Microsoft Project Professional for schedulers and project managers.
PPMX is incompatible with Microsoft Project Standard Edition. If you need to use Microsoft Project for its advanced project scheduling features, then you will need to use Microsoft Project Professional Edition.
Since PPMX is built in private clouds, in the rare situation you decide to discontinue using PPMX you can still enjoy the private cloud hosting provided by us or simply migrate on prem, we supply you with all the backed up databases so that you can simply restore your data onto a standard Project Server environment.
This is in our roadmap. Certain features of PPMX will be available later this year.
